Our Story

How it all started

1971

Harvest Baptist Church began meeting in the fall of 1971 in the home of Ernest Tudor on Shallowford Road in Kennesaw. By mid December, the number of people attending had outgrown the Tudor's home, and we began meeting at the Blackwell elementary School on Canton Road in Marietta. During these months, the church purchased a property to meet at and built several buildings there. The church's first pastor was Carl Braswell. He pastored the church from 1972-1982. Over the next 36 years, God brought several different pastors along to lead Harvest towards reaching and investing in our community for the sake of the Gospel.

Where we are now

2001 - present

In 2001, the church bought property and built several buildings in our current location on Kellogg Creek Rd. In March of 2018, God gave us Pastor Larry Wright. God has blessed his vision and direction for Harvest as he leads our church forward in the years to come. We are excited to see how God will continue to use the people here at Harvest to be a blessing to and reach the people of Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta, and the surrounding communities for the Gospel.

Where we are headed

Secondary Title

We are a church that loves people and enjoys any opportunity that we can get to know you better. It would be an honor for us to have you visit and maybe even one day become part of our church family. We are excited for the years ahead, and truly the best is yet to come. "The Gospel is the power of God unto Salvation," as Paul said, and that is the life-giving message we share and seek to give to everyone we meet and serve. It is because of this Gospel that we have joy and purpose in Christ. We look forward to the years ahead and how God would use us for His glory and His church.
